Saudia flies to Red Sea International four times a week from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh and two times a week from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah. The currency of Saudi Arabia is the Saudi riyal (SAR). The riyal is subdivided into 100 halalas and is pegged to the US dollar. One US dollar is equal to 3.75 SAR. Notes are in denominations of five riyals, 10 riyals, 50 riyals, 100 riyals, and 500 riyals. Coins are one riyal, two riyals, 50 halala, 25 halala, 10 halala, 5 halala, or 1 halala.
The Red Sea is a private sun, sea and sand destination and visitors should dress how they feel comfortable. When visiting local villages or religious sites, we advise that both men and women dress modestly, keeping arms and knees covered and wearing loose clothing. It is not essential for women to cover their hair.
Arabic is the official language of Saudi Arabia. English is the Kingdom’s informal second language, spoken by a large section of society in cities and large towns.
